A Closer Look

When it comes to closed-loop coolers, most of the radiators remain fairly similar except for a select few. The Eisbaer Aurora 360 is one of those few, as Alphacool opts for an all copper radiator rather than the more traditional aluminium radiators used by their peers. The fin spacing, or fins-per-inch (FPI), is also much lower at 15 FPI than with traditional aluminium radiators used in closed-loop coolers, which sit at 21–22 FPI. This means lower-speed fans can be used as the amount of pressure needed to force air through is greatly reduced. Alphacool has also made this unit expandable, and it is made to be paired with their Eiswolf series of blocks. As for the fittings, they opted for the industry-standard G1/4", which keeps things simple—at this point, it's the gold standard for custom water cooling. They also go a step further by using quick-release fitting for easier expansion.

The pump is blocky with a window showing the impeller of the pump and digital RGB used for illumination. A fill port is located on the top, along with the inlet and outlet ports. When it comes to power, the pump is connected to a motherboard fan header rather than using the SATA or Molex option. Sadly, the wiring also comes out of the top of the pump, making it a bit harder to hide, which slightly blemishes an otherwise attractive design. It would be nice to see the wiring exit the pump housing elsewhere. As for the cold plate, it is nickel-plated copper and has a mirror-like finish with no visible machining marks and feels exceptionally smooth to the touch, which is a nice surprise compared to the rougher look on most all-in-one liquid coolers.

The three fans are 120 mm RGB offerings with an RPM range of 800–2000. Since these fans have RGB rings, the blades are a bit smaller, which will likely impact performance to some degree compared to more traditional options. However, thanks to the radiator's lower FPI, this should not be as large a problem as on units with a higher FPI. Compared to older Alphacool units I have reviewed, the fan quality is still a step up compared to the Eisbaer LT with its generic fans, though not on par with the be quiet! fans used in the Eisbaer Extreme Black Edition model I also reviewed.
