Packaging

The packaging is large and follows the classic design lines that Antec uses for their products. These include the dark background, the yellow strip on the right, and the angled close-up of the product right in the middle of the front. The front's bottom side also has several icons describing the unit's capacity, the LED fan, and the modular cables. Also, there is an icon for continuous power, but Antec forgot to mention at which maximum temperature the unit can output its full power continuously. Near the top-right corner are two badges for the 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency and SLI certification.


On this side is a list with the available connectors. We would highly appreciate it if Antec also mentioned cable lengths.


Two tables on this side refer to the power input and output specifications of the unit. You will also find the contact details for Antec's RMA support in three different continents here.


A features description in two languages and a small scheme depicting the dimensions of the PSU can be found on this side.


Three schemes on this side describe the CircuitShield, a reference to the protection features this unit is equipped with; the LED fan, and the 16-pin sockets of the modular panel. A small badge in the bottom-left corner also points to the five-year warranty the unit is covered by.


The rear has a multilingual features description and a series of badges in the top-right corner.

The PSU is protected by a thick cardboard sheet because Antec avoids using not-so-environmental-friendly packaging foam; the latter still offers much better protection. The PSU is also wrapped in a black bag with Antec's logo. This bag is surely a nice move, but we would highly prefer if if they would instead include a pouch for the modular cables.


The bundle includes two reusable cable ties, a set of fixing bolts, an AC power cord, a user's manual, a warranty leaflet, and the necessary modular cables.

Exterior

The finish of the unit is nearly glossy and of very good quality. However, the design doesn't have any interesting aspects to show except for the red-colored decals that make a nice combination with the dark-grey paint job, netting the PSU some appearance points. The typical honeycomb-style grills are used at the front and on top of the PSU. There is a small on/off switch next to the AC receptacle.


Only two fully sleeved native cables protrude out the back. A grommet protects them from the enclosure's edges, and the small switch on the observe side allows you to toggle the fan's LED light on and off. The transparent fan looks nice, but will make fan-speed measurements difficult as the laser beam of our tachometer won't reflected normally.


The modular cables are fully sleeved, end-to-end. These also use darkened wires to at least function as semi-stealthed cables. The sleeving job is nice and the cables aren't too rigid, making cable-management tasks a smooth affair.
