Apps and More
There is a solitary bit of Gigabyte software that seems to be installed on the Aorus 17, called Control Center. At first look, it is very unassuming and doesn't seem to offer that much. A couple of clicks and a lot more functionality emerges.
I was pleased to see all the options and monitoring available here. You can control most hardware, like the camera being on or not, with a lot of ease.
You can set custom fan curves and custom RGB lighting profiles, both of which offer far more functionality than you see from other laptops. The interface for both is relatively simple to use and makes the most of what the hardware itself has to offer.
There are also panels for setting macros and other keyboard functions.
There is a built-in tool for the recovery of your OS software and settings, as well as a panel to update the BIOS and drivers of the laptop.
I was rather impressed to see the number of updates available. I also managed to pop out the Realtek Dragon control panel app, which allows you to prioritize network traffic.
