The Aqirys XO-1 may not draw too much attention with its simple, clean lines and sharp corners - even if Aqirys tries to give it some DNA of its own with a few subtle angular aspects. But it manages to be a very sturdy and capable enclosure that just feels tad bit expensive at an equivalent of $140 pre-tax MSRP. Thankfully, in the channel it is a bit more affordable.
At its core, it is a mid-tower chassis with four ARGB fans and a controller. For those attributes, the most aggressively priced mainstream cases on the market tend to hit that $100-$110 MSRP mark. But the XO-1 manages to offer a little bit more with its side cooling possibility, GPU support bracket, remote control as well as modular ATX/mATX layout and a very sturdy material mix. One could argue that this could be worth the extra $30-40 dollars, albeit most would rather spend that on the components instead.
That is a good segue way to one of the somewhat unique aspects of the case in form of the modular back. While we have seen similar approaches in other smaller as well as bigger enclosures, the question always remains whether that is really useful as it caters to a somewhat edge case scenario. Besides that functionality, the Aqirys XO-1 manages to be a solid all-around performer with good enough cooling for a glass front chassis, plenty of room for big components and cooling as well as the ability to install more than the usual fans or radiators within the confines of a mid-tower enclosure.
As such, even with it slightly high price tag, the Aqirys XO-1 can be recommended - especially for those who like the additional use of glass, and clean looks.
