Board Software

ASRock's standard software package makes an appearance here with the ASRock X299 Extreme4. For the first time, I noticed that the App Shop software offers nothing unless you have an Internet connection. It might be nice to see it offer one or two smaller apps right off the disc. The LED-controlling software is great, with an easy-to-understand interface that makes changes to onboard or added LEDs quick and easy.


The Restart-to-UEFI software also makes a showing, offering a way to reboot directly into the BIOS for when you want to change options or what have you. If you have installed your OS in full UEFI mode, getting into the BIOS by pressing a key on your keyboard at boot up is nigh on impossible, so this software is a crucial part of any motherboard these days.
