The ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial has everything the Z690 chipset can offer, including a Gen5 M.2 socket. The rear I/O section is great as well and offers 10 Gb LAN along with USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-3 Type-A ports and Thunderbolt 4.

The external USB-C enclosure is only rated for 10 Gb/s; This is the second motherboard to reach 1 GB/s and is quite high compared to other motherboards I have benchmarked using the same M.2 USB 3.2 Gen2 2x1 (10 Gbps) enclosures.

Using a Gen4 x4 M.2 drive, testing shows that five M.2 sockets are indeed Gen4 x4 with the correct amount of bandwidth allocated to each socket.
