With multiple clients connected, the AS3102T achieved good overall performance, and we noticed a decline in overall transfer speed only when we connected the fifth client. For a budget NAS with a single Ethernet Gigabit port, these performance numbers are more than acceptable.
Here are some screenshots of the activity monitor during our multi-client tests. CPU and RAM utilization wasn't high; however, we were troubled by the spikes on the CPU-monitoring graph.
CPU temperature reached 49°C while the system's temperature was a low 39°C. The fan also only spun at 700 RPM during the multi-client tests, which almost made it inaudible.
After 10 minutes of testing, HDD temperatures were at 35-36°C, increasing to to 40-41°C toward the end of the test. Temperatures will rise with larger capacity HDDs, of course; however, the fan will speed up in order to provide better cooling.
