AUKEY KM-G3 Keyboard Review

Driver

The AUKEY KM-G3 doesn't use any software and all the features that are available are controlled using the hardware options I already mentioned.

Performance

Using the AUKEY KM-G3 has been perfectly fine. Ok, it isn't going to compete with keyboards that are double the price, but it performs brilliantly for an entry level mechanical keyboard. The Outemu switches feel nice to type on and have that satisfying click many people like. The keyboard feels a little light to me, but that is due to personal preference as I am used to keyboards with full CNC aluminum bodies. The function keys work perfectly fine, and the Windows lock key always has a special place in my heart when gaming as there is nothing worse than pressing it by accident and having the game minimize, which usually spells your death by the time you're back in game.

The lighting effects that are included with the AUKEY KM-G3 are more than enough for a keyboard at this price point; there are plenty of different modes to play with, and it was nice to see that you could individually select keys to illuminate also. I have made some gifs to show you some of my favorite lighting options.

The color wave is the industry standard "show off" profile; it always seems to be used on demo displays, and for good reason as it allows you to see the full spectrum of colors available.

This is one mode I haven't seen often, but it is quite interesting; it would annoy me if I left it on for any period of time, but whilst it is still a novelty, I do rather like it.

The AUKEY KM-G3 also has some reactive modes; these modes react to key presses and are not usually bundled with cheaper keyboards. It is nice to see that they are included here. They are a little crazy, but fun to play with.

This is yet another reactive effect; it is far more subtle and works well.

This is the AUKEY KM-G3 in a well-lit area. Although not as bright as some higher-end models, it is perfectly visible regardless.
