Along with the powerful Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575 capture card (reviewed here), AVerMedia released a more affordable product, called the Live Streamer Ultra HD GC571. It too is a PCI Express capture card but with HDMI 2.0 instead of HDMI 2.1 ports, a weaker SoC, and lower recording and pass-through resolutions/refresh rates. With that comes a hefty price reduction; the Live Streamer Ultra HD GC571 goes on sale with a $180 price tag.
The AVerMedia Live Streamer Ultra HD GC571 connects to the system through a PCI Express Gen 3 x1 interface, capped at 8 Gbps. It can capture 4K video at 30 FPS while simultaneously doing 4K60 pass-through both with HDR and VRR enabled. It can also do 1440p144 HDR/VRR and 1080p240 HDR/VRR pass-through. Video capture is capped at 60 FPS in 1440p, but goes up to 120 FPS in 1080p. With these specs in mind, Full HD game streamers seem like the ideal target audience for the Live Streamer Ultra HD GC571. You can also get away with 1440p gaming, assuming you're not running a 240 Hz monitor. If 4K streaming and capture is your primary goal, you're definitely better off stretching your budget and getting the aforementioned Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575 capture card, which has the interfaces and raw power needed to get the best experience, regardless of your gaming platform of choice.
