Value and Conclusion

  • The Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 850 W retails for 152€ in Europe (w/o VAT) and currently isn't available on the US market but Be Quiet told us that this will change in the near future.
  • Delivered full power at 50°C
  • High efficiency
  • Low ripple
  • Tight voltage regulation
  • Low noise at normal ambient
  • Excellent build quality
  • High quality Silent Wings fan
  • Tons of connectors
  • Ability to toggle between multi-rail and single +12V rail
  • Equipped with fan connectors
  • Rich bundle
  • High price
  • The fan is noisy if you manage to make it spin at full speed
Like its smaller sibling did a few weeks ago, the P10-850W managed to really impress me with its performance, outstanding build quality and the features it provides. Be Quiet took a top performing platform from Seasonic and made it even better by adding more features, a better and silent fan (at least at normal ambient temperatures) and killer looks.
Surely the P10-850W doesn't come cheap but don't forget the high quality parts it uses and what it has to offer: silence with awesome performance and very high efficiency. Also it comes with lots of cables, which will easily power three high-end VGAs, a server mainboard and numerous peripheral devices including several system fans. If you prefer to have a single rail power supply, then you can reconfigure the Dark Power Pro 10 by the flip of a switch and combine all +12V rails into a single powerful one.

If you can afford it and you consider the purchase of a good PSU an investment, which you should, then this is probably the best 850W PSU on the market today.
