Installation

When it comes to installing the be quiet! Shadow Rock LP the first thing you will need to do is prepare the backplate. Start by putting the four backplate screws into their proper notches for your socket. Now, use the rubber o-rings to hold them in place. Once done, place the backplate on the motherboard and secure it in place with the screw pillars.

Now, screw the mounting arms to the screw pillars and apply some thermal paste in preparation for mounting the heatsink.

With the thermal paste applied, place the crossbar onto the heatsink's base and line the cooler and crossbar up with the CPU and the two holes on the mounting arms. Screw the crossbar down to secure the heatsink in place once everything has been lined up.

All that is left now is to attach the fan before plugging it into the CPU fan header, and that's it—the be quiet! Shadow Rock LP is good to go!

The mounting hardware be quiet! provides works well enough, and while not the best I have used, it is easier to work with due to the heatsinks's small size. Overall, I would rate the installation procedure for an average user a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
