The BitFenix Ronin shares a few elements with the Shinobi when it comes to the interior of the case, so some may call the Ronin its spiritual successor. The Ronin is currently available for pre-order at 79.99 euros, which seems adequate. While it is more expensive than the Shinobi or the Midgard II, it does offer more features and solid build quality. Yes, the Midgard II has its HDD hot-swap bay, but the Ronin offers better overall quality and the unique visual cover within the chassis. BitFenix has done a good job differentiating the Ronin from the Shinobi, with actual hard-drive cages, one of which is removable, and the updated design for better water-cooling support.
That said, there is not much else to say as the Ronin is understated, functional, and timeless in design. In the end, it simply works, and does so well. While other manufacturers do have more functional features, I am a proponent of quality over quantity when it comes to cases above 50 euros. It will be interesting to see whether the Ronin ends up killing off the Shinobi, but BitFenix may even have a real successor in the works for that chassis.
