A Closer Look - Inside

As we suspected, when taking a look at the rear of the case, the interior is identical to that of the CM Storm Scout. It is very simple, but functional. You will not find a lot of innovation within this chassis, but compatibility and overall outside looks are probally the two most important factors for the Gladiator 600. Having the same interior as the Scout, you also get the hole under the mainboard for easy removal of CPU coolers and several possibilities to use the zip ties to secure any loose cables within the case.

To install any external drives, you will have to pry the entire front of the chassis. Doing so, you can clearly see the front intake fan. There is no dust filter here, but the metal mesh of the front, should hold back most of the dirt.

Moving in on the front of the Gladiator 600, the bottom is taken by a simple hard drive bay, which can hold five such devices with the use of the included rails. The top area is filled with the five external drive bays, all of which have a plastic sliding lock each. This lock is actually quite sturdy and stays in place perfectly. Let's see if it holds the drives just as well.

The bottom of the rear has an opening to give the power supply access to some fresh air. There is no dust filter here, but the one, which has been seperately supplied, fits perfectly in this location. All the mainboard expansion slots have a screwless system in form of plastic clips. As we have seen in previous reviews, these clips do not hold well at all, but luckily Cooler Master has included black screws as well. Considering the fact, that many will not install a large and heavy graphic card or other high-end components in a chassis like that, one may even get away without using these traditional means to secure them. The very top holds nothing out of the ordinary. The spot for the fan can take an 80, 92 or 120 mm unit.

The ceiling fan is also 140 mm sized and comes equipped with a Molex connector and a mainboard plug, giving you complete choice in this regard. There is no space between the fan and the upper edge of the mainboard, so this may mean that some vital board connectors will be hard to reach with larger CPU coolers.
