The Corsair Hydro Series H90 is certainly a stand-out product. While it may be overshadowed by more value-oriented products at more typical loads, overclocking is where its value becomes apparent. With just a light overclock under Prime95, a gap of 15°C forms between the Corsair Hydro Series H90 and its next competitor. While more typical loads may show a very small difference in performance, the Prime95 test shows us that the Corsair cooler will allow users to overclock further. Add to that its low noise output of just 46 dBA under maximum load and you have a cooler that offers great performance to overclockers without excessive noise output.

While the Corsair Hydro Series H90 is a good cooler, it does have some drawbacks. More value-orientated products, such as the Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, make sense to users that don't overlclock. I must also mention that the lack of Corsair Link support and no fan-speed controller, both of which can be found on other Corsair products, are compromises I wish Corsair had not made. The mounting hardware is also a drawback. It is a step backwards from what was used on previous Hydro Series products like the H100.

All in all, the Corsair Hydro Series H90 is a fantastic cooler that looks good and performs great. It even does so with the lowest noise output of all coolers tested to date. if a user needs good cooling while overclocking and does not wish to be bothered by noise, the Corsair Hydro Series H90 is a fantastic choice.
