The radiator has a boxy design with small indents on each side of the end tanks. For accents only, the Corsair name and logo have been added on the side in silver. A closer inspection of the radiator itself resulted in no bent fins or other quality control issues to speak of. Simply put, it arrived clean and functional. It has a measured FPI (fins-per-inch) of 20, which is rather dense, but par the course for the majority of closed-loop liquid coolers, which tend to range from 20-21 FPI. Moving on to the tubing, it is sleeved, which gives it a nicer appearance than the plain black rubber tubing and is a typical inclusion on Corsair units. It is also a huge improvement over the ugly corrugated offerings still used by some of Corsair's competitors.
Unlike the H100i PRO and H150i PRO, the H115i RGB Platinum uses a slightly different pump design. This is especially true in regards to the mounting hardware, which we will look at momentarily. The pump features an aluminium accent that goes around the RGB LED illuminated logo and ties it in with the silver logo on the radiator. The wiring is placed on the sides, away from the swivel fittings on the block, which makes tweaking the tubing for optimal placement a bit easier. The Corsair iCUE software control is enabled via the USB port on the other side and plugs into the motherboard via a USB header. Taking a look at the copper cold plate, users will find it has thermal paste pre-applied, which is the norm for a Corsair liquid cooler. Once the thermal paste has been removed, the cold plate proves to be quite smooth to the touch with only some very light machining marks being visible.
Corsair is using their high quality 140 mm RGB magnetic levitation fans for this model. Specifications show a PWM range of 400–2000 and a maximum CFM of 97.
