CORSAIR's entry to the ever-changing world of DIY custom watercooling can be regarded a huge success now, with the brand often featured in many PC builds because of its competitive product range and a design language that is in line with the rest of its core component lineup. This makes a DIY cooing loop entirely comprised of CORSAIR parts a possibility, with the Hydro X Series including different types of CPU blocks, an even more varied collection of GPU blocks, pump/reservoir units employing both the Xylem DDC and popular Xylem D5 pumps, radiators both thick and thin, and other miscellaneous items, such as coolants, fittings, and tools to assemble the DIY cooling loop.

I had asked CORSAIR whether it saw distribution plates making an entry into the Hydro X Series multiple times only to be met with clear signs of "nope," at least back then. The company then hit the jackpot with its 5000 series of cases doing extremely well, which may have eventually convinced CORSAIR to do one better than the XD3 and XD5 pump/reservoir units. Today, we examine the Hydro X Series XD7. It is a 360 mm (3x 120 mm) pump/reservoir combo that uses an integrated distribution plate design, albeit not for a specific case in terms of where and how the various inlet and outlet ports are located. By adopting standard 120 mm fan-hole spacing, any case supporting a 360 mm radiator can fit it too, and the design is clearly meant to meld in with CORSAIR RGB case fans. Let's examine how the CORSAIR Hydro XD7 works out in practice as we begin with a look a the product specifications in the table below. Thanks again to CORSAIR for providing TechPowerUp a review sample.
