Installation

To install Corsair's iCUE H150i Elite LCD XT cooler, I first had to swap the Intel mounting brackets that are preinstalled with the AMD brackets. To do this, just slide the old ones off and put the new ones on. Next, remove the plastic AMD brackets on the motherboard but keep the backplate as is.

Now secure the backplate via the proper standoffs and then apply thermal paste before mounting the pump block to the CPU. Removing the pump top with its LCD will make the installation far easier. Before you fully tighten everything down, attach the LCD to make sure it clears the thumbscrews, if it doesn't, you need to tweak the mount a bit to make sure everything is straight. Once the pump block is secure, place the LCD top cover back on.

It is now time to secure the radiator to the chassis and follow that up by attaching the fans. Once done, you can plug in the pump, fans, and ARGB cables into the Commander Core RGB and fan controller. Make sure to plug in the USB splitter and attach the pump and Commander Core hub so everything will work properly.

Overall, the installation is pretty straightforward on AMD and Intel; however, the lack of a proper manual and the mess of wiring will likely make for some frustration. While it's not a doom and gloom scenario, the fact is there is a lot of wiring to hide and cable management to be done, and as you can see, I basically didn't bother with any of that. I just made sure the wiring wouldn't restrict airflow during testing. I am also not really a fan of the proprietary software and connectors, but if you are already using Corsair products, I will say it works quite well.
