A big thank you to ECS for supplying the review sample.
Established in 1987, Elitegroup Computer Systems, commonly known as ECS, has become a prominent PC OEM/ODM. Specializing in the production of a wide range of products for both their own brand and other vendors, ECS is an industry leader with a diverse array of offerings that includes mini-PCs, laptops, motherboards, All-in-one PCs, and various Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Even if you have never owned an ECS product, its highly likely you have owned or used a product they built.
Today, I take an in-depth look at the ECS LIVA Z5 Plus mini-PC. While not unique for its form factor, this latest offering uses Intel's Core i5-1335U SoC which features 2 P-cores and 8 E-cores for a total of 10 cores and 12 threads. On the GPU front it uses Intel's Iris Xe Graphics with 80 EUs. Since the unit is not a barebones offering the review sample came equipped with 2x 8 GB (16 GB total) of DDR4 3200 MHz memory and a 256 GB SSD pre-loaded with Windows 11 PRO, meaning the system is 100% ready to go out of the box.
