We would like to thank Enermax for supplying the review sample.

The new Platimax series is based on fine tuned versions of the Maxrevo and Modu 87+ platforms with optimizations for the strict 80 PLUS Platinum requirements. At this time, the Platimax line has four members available with capacities ranging from 750W to 1200W. The two stronger units, with 1200W and 1050W utilize a fully modular cabling design while the 850W and 750W ones are semi-modular. Two more units with 600W and 500W capacity will be added to the Platimax series in the future, to cover all user needs. All Platimax units are equipped with twister-bearing fans, use Japanese caps and feature the dynamic hybrid transformer technology. Also Enermax backs them with a five year warranty and claims that they are able to work 24/7 at 50°C. We will see about that in our tests, since we plan to crank up the heat inside the hot box.

Many of you would like to see the strongest of the Platimax units facing our vicious loaders, but we are pretty sure that the Platimax 850W (or EPM850EWT) will be of most interest to a larger portion of users, since PSUs with more than 1000W capacity are intended only for ultra high-end systems, using extreme power hungry components and are simply an overkill for smaller ones.
