For the asking price of $70, the EVGA XR1 lite provides a 4K/60 Hz HDMI passthrough and 1080p/60 Hz video capture, does uncompressed NV12 and YUY2 encoding over USB 3.0 instead of MJPEG, and is OBS certified, which is closely related to the fact that the XR1 lite is fully compliant with the UVC standard. As such, it works in a true plug-and-play fashion, completely driverless regardless of the platform (Windows, macOS, or Linux). OBS and other recording and live-streaming apps, such as Streamlabs OBS, vMix, and XSplit, see it as a video capture device (a webcam), as do Skype, Teams, Zoom, and other applications using video output devices.
