A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove the thumb screws holding each panel in place. At first sight, the interior looks very basic as there is no shroud on the bottom. Looking at the backside of the motherboard tray, you will notice that it also does not come with any grommets and that there is a mere 14 mm of space to work with. However, if you add the other ~ 8 mm due to the extruded side panel, the total comes to a much more manageable 22 mm.

In the front, at the very bottom, is the hard-drive cage that is held in place with traditional screws. This means that it is removable if you need the space for something else, like a thick radiator. The two fans push air into the case, and you may install a 240 mm radiator here if you like, but it will block the bottom of the 5.25" external drive bays. The pair is located in the very top and comes with mounting holes for screws to secure any drives.

In the rear, the bottom-mounted PSU will sit on small foam dots as a basic anti-vibration measure. Above that are the four expansion slots and 120 mm opening for an additional fan.

The ceiling can hold up to two 120 mm cooling units and comes with individual dust filters in place. You may also install a 240 mm radiator instead if you like.

All the cables within the Fractal Design Focus G Mini are of the standard variety—you should run into no issues as you connect everything to the motherboard of your choice.
