A Closer Look - Inside

Taking a look at the inside, the FSP CMT520 is not simply an upgrade of the CMT510. Instead, it is a very different chassis altogether. The one thing that becomes very apparent once both panels have been removed are the numerous holes around the motherboard tray, none of which have any rubber grommets. The shroud on the bottom of the chassis is more of a side panel by default as you can still clearly view the PSU and HDD cage. This is where the Halo Cover comes in - it is intended to block these elements from view. There is an opening on the side of the shroud to ensure onlookers know which cool power supply you opted for.

Looking at the backside of the motherboard tray, there are quite a few wires due to the four RGB fans. However, with around 30 mm of space, you won't have to worry about space constrains when routing your cables in this area. FSP has also placed a plate for two 2.5" drives here.

The RGB controller comes in its own housing and features magnetic elements so that you may simply move it around the case to suit your needs. This is a nice touch, especially if you take the time to route all the cables that connect to it.

Within the hard-drive cage in the front, you will find two white hard-drive trays for either 2.5" or 3.5" drives. Above them is nothing aside from the three fans set to push air into the CMT520. FSP has also placed two more mounting possibilities for SSDs here, which brings the total number of storage drives to six - plenty for most users.

In the rear, the PSU bay comes with four foam pads on which the power supply will rest. Above that are the aforementioned eight expansion-slot covers for the motherboard and the fourth 120 mm fan.

Thanks to the numerous mounting holes in the ceiling, you can take your pick between 120 or 140 mm fans. A Radiator of up to 360 mm should fit easily as well; FSP has offset the mounting to keep such a radiator away from any motherboard components.

All the cables within the FSP CMT520 are of the default variety - you should have no issues connecting them to a modern motherboard of your choice.
