Storage Performance
The Gigabyte Z690 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce has everything besides a Gen5 M.2 socket, as rare as it may be. The rear I/O section is great as well and offers 10 Gb LAN along with USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-3 Type-A ports and Thunderbolt 4.AIDA64 (SATA 6 Gb/s)

The external USB-C enclosure is only rated for 10 Gb/s; 1 GB/s is quite high compared to other motherboards I have benchmarked using the same M.2 USB 3.2 Gen2 2x1 (10 Gbps) enclosures.

Using a Gen4 x4 M.2 drive, testing shows that four M.2 sockets are indeed Gen4 x4 with the correct amount of bandwidth allocated to each socket.
