The latest addition to the Head-Direct amplifier line-up is a real treat for everyone looking for a reasonably priced desktop amplifier that can be used with a PC. Its internal DAC does a good job and although it is not as great sounding as a higher end solution it still runs circles around what is featured in similar products like the Octavart The ONE. The gain ratio is good for most normal headphones, it powers everything from low impedance Grados to high impedance HD 580s, and albeit not the most demanding load they still require a decent amount of muscle from the amp. Compared to its size this amplifier is really something and factoring in the cost it is a very complete package.
