The HE-300s are one of those rare occasions where good performance meets a very attractive pricepoint. Based on the performance these headphones deliver, they are sure to become a massive success. At $299 these are a steal, pure and simple. They best their Sennheiser equivalents on the main performance indicators and manage to be very efficient as well.

The Head-Direct HiFiMAN HE-300s are great for all of those looking for a mid and bass centered headphone with above average treble performance as well. The midrange is one of the best we have ever come across in the sub $300 price category. The HE-300s are great all-rounders with their principal qualities being the bass and midrange quality. The only small drawback is size, they are prohibitively large for use on the go which is a real shame.
