Installation
The universal mounting hardware makes installation quite simple, and it is the same for both the SE 914 XT Basic and SE 914 XT ARGB. First, position the backplate on the motherboard. Now, slide the plastic spacers over the screws, at which point you can position the mounting arms over the screws and lock them in place with the four Philips-head nuts.
With that done, apply some thermal paste and mount the cooler on the CPU. Make sure to line the captive spring nuts up with the threaded posts on the mounting arms. Once you have everything lined up, screw the captive nuts down, alternating every couple of turns to ensure even spread and pressure. Once done, you can attach the fan to the heatsink using the included fan clips.
At this point, all you need to do is plug the fan in, at least for the SE 914 XT Basic. For the SE 914 XT ARGB, you will need to plug the ARGB cables on the fan and the top plate into the splitter cable, which then needs to be plugged into the ARGB header on your motherboard. If your motherboard has no ARGB header, you will need to use the included SATA powered ARGB controller.
Overall, the installation is as simple as it can be, and I would rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
