Pushing the Limits (Or Not)

By default, the Legion 5 Pro doesn't fully support overclocking, but there is some performance profiling built into the Legion 5 Pro, which the sticker above hints at. Hitting the function key and then "Q" swaps which performance profile is in use, and changes the color of the LED in the middle of the power button.

To see the performance difference offered between the default profile and the high power profile, I used 3DMARK's Time Spy test.

The boosted profile lets the GPU go from about 120 W on average to 150 W, an increase of 25%. Performance, however, doesn't scale linearly. Still, a close to 10% boost in this specific test isn't that bad. It will increase system power use and thereby create more fan noise, but the perceivable difference is so small, I'm not sure why you'd use the default profile at all.
