Packaging and Accessories

LETSHUUOER operates a web shop directly, and this sample came straight from the company. As such, the unboxing section starts with the shipping packaging itself. We see a cardboard box that is wrapped in so much LETSHUOER-branded packaging tape and bubble wrap that it would easily survive even some overzealous couriers, which is good to see. The new marketing tagline—Impulse the Emotion—returns to remind us this is clearly not from a company that has English as a first language! The actual product box is placed inside the shipping box, which is a snug fit.

The product box for the LETSHUOER S12 is quite small and comes sealed in plastic. The box uses a predominantly white color scheme in a two-piece packaging with an outer decorative sleeve that has the company and product name, company logo, and render of the IEMs in one of two available color options. The product specifications are on the back in both English and Mandarin, with contact information for LETSHUOER also placed here. A sticker on the side confirms the exact configuration of the S12 inside, and the inner box with huge branding takes up two sides and has an even weirder slogan on the side.

This inner box consists of two pieces, too. The thick cardboard lid lifts up to reveal a folded multi-language quick start guide that is also a poster of a model wearing the IEMs in a terribly incorrect manner. I do appreciate that LETSHUOER put a factory frequency response curve here, which all companies should do. The base of the box has a thick foam sheet with the two IEMs separately contained in snug cutouts for further protection, and a larger cutout below hosts a plastic clamshell box with some of the ear tips inside.

There is a bottom layer with more foam and paperwork, including a card filled with QR codes for various different LETSHUOER web pages, a warranty and after-sales form, and QC sticker. More relevant is the storage case, which is among the cheapest such offerings I have seen to date. It doesn't bother pretending the faux leather finish is anything else, although the glossy LETSHUOER logo is well applied. The zipper is also self-covering for some added dust and spill resistance, but opening the case, I noticed quite some play between the top and bottom pieces. It also is not very nice to actually hold in hand, but thankfully small enough to chuck inside your bag without taking up much space. Inside is the cable itself, so both the cable and IEMs are easily separately examined on the next page, as are the other sets of ear tips in their separate plastic zip-lock bags.

LETSHUOER is generous on the accessories front, and three types of ear tips ship with the S12. Each type also comes in three different sizes (S/M/L), which makes for a comprehensive set. Two of these are silicone in nature, with a black bore and clear flange set that is slightly stiffer than the all-gray silicone ear tips, and generic black memory foam ear tips round off the experience. This is enough coverage for most users, and do try out the various options as you see fit.
