The Lian Li PC-B25FB is a great case. While it does come at a premium price, you get uncompromising quality and the very useful feature set we have come to expect and love from Lian Li. That said, there is really no downside with the chassis. you will be able to fit large CPU coolers, graphic cards, eight hard drives, eight expansion cards for quad SLI or Crossfire. But because it comes at such a price, we get to be really picky as well. While we are all for the sliding hard drives, a small annoyance is the fact that you will have to take off both side panels to add more drives. This may not be a big deal if your system is out in the open, but will be, if that thing is in the corner under the desk. Also, partially due to the KingMod, you lose some of the already limited cable management within the case. Sure you can hide some of them and you may use zip ties to secure the bulk of the cables, but they are still in there and you cannot route them so that they will be out of sight. While there are other Lian Li enclosures with similar features for a bit less, you are definitely paying a bit for the five fans and exterior look of the PC-B25FB.
That brings us to the CaseKing KingMod service. This is certainly a great idea and gives the customer the added choice of buying a chassis with the sound insulation pre-installed. What we do not digg so much is the price premium one has to pay. If you were to grab the insulation material and the chassis seperately, you would save yourself 10 €. Sure, one has to take into consideration that a human being has to spend the time to unpack the case, install the insulating material and pack it back into the cardboard box, but simply not getting the material to truly seal off 100% of the chassis leaves us with the feeling of wanting more. One could go and buy a universal sound dampening kit from Caseking and truly cover every hole and opening to go for that truly silent PC instead. So you may be happier with the overall result if you were to spend some quality time, installing the sound insulation yourself from the ground up, possibly even saving yourself a few bucks in the process. After all, most of us buying a Lian Li case will assemble the entire PC ourselves - so a few high quality foam parts should be a no-brainer.
