The Logitech G240 is a medium-sized soft mouse pad of 340 x 280 mm that is just 1 mm thick, so it's safe to call it extra-thin. At 1 mm thick, there is only one size available from Logitech as their other soft mats have a lot more padding. It comes in a rather big, hexagonal box, but is easily portable without it; inside a folded laptop, for example.
The surface is velvety, smooth, and even. I couldn't find any uneven parts where the mouse would behave differently—except the raised logo, of course. For some reason, a bunch of manufacturers tend to stick to this horrible method of branding their pads, and I hope this feature will soon be extinct. As for the backing, it's a light blue rubber base with some texturing to it. While it doesn't provide 100% rock-steady traction, it's still decent, way better than average in my book, especially considering how light this pad really is.
Performance-wise, I couldn't detect any anomalies. I tested four different mice with four different sensors, and as expected, all of them worked flawlessly on the G240. A huge plus is that it lays completely flat pretty much instantly. Usually thicker, most other cloth mouse pads that come rolled up tend to take days or sometimes even weeks to properly flatten out. The G240 is extremely good about it—taken out of the box, it's perfectly usable right away. Adding to that, build quality is fantastic on the surface and back areas. There's nothing negative to mention. As for the edges, they could be a tad better. Some parts look a bit jagged. However, while this takes away a little from its aesthetics, it doesn't affect usability.
At $19.99, the G240 has an average price point. Most bigger brands offer their pads in this size for a similar price, but there are of course much cheaper alternatives out there as well. I would highly recommend the G240 for those who want a medium-sized, ultra-thin mouse pad. It's a great product overall, but you have to sacrifice the edge stitching, and being so thin, durability is questionable as well.
