As with most NAS servers of this category, you can also use some of the ReadyNAS 202's features through your smart phone. Netgear created some rather interesting applications for both popular mobile operating systems, Android and iOS.

ReadyCLOUD

ReadyCLOUD allows you to access all files and media on a ReadyNAS through a smartphone or tablet. According to Netgear, this app makes streaming or downloading content onto your phone or tablet through your network or over the Internet a breeze. ReadyCLOUD can also automatically upload your Camera Roll on your phone or tablet to the ReadyNAS.

  • Access everything on your ReadyNAS (videos, music, photos, and other files)
  • Download videos, photos, or music for offline viewing
  • Automatically back your Camera Roll up on your ReadyNAS
  • Stream music on your ReadyCLOUD directly to your mobile device (DLNA must be enabled for the folder)
  • Preview thumbnails of photos (DLNA must be enabled for the folder)
  • Camera Roll backup can be configured to use cellular data and Wifi or Wifi only connectivity
  • Access documents (pdf, word, and excel)
  • Access the full capacity of your ReadyNAS (terabytes)
  • No monthly subscriptions or costs
  • Recently viewed content will be cached locally, reducing the time and data cost when it comes to files that have been accessed.

Uploading photos from your iOS device to the NAS is a piece of cake with this application.
