The seat's base is 56 cm wide (22.05") and 56.5 cm (22.24 ") deep.
The seat's height from the ground up can be adjusted via a lever under the seat's right side - from 48-58 cm (18.9-22.8 "). The seat's base is made out of the same type and density of foam as the backrest. The cushioning is softer than with the last two noblechairs we have tried, while solid at the same time. The seat's sides are only slightly contoured, which means you can make use of the whole area here.
The exquisite diamond stitching pattern covers almost the entire sitting area, and along with the perforations on the PU upholstery, one can use this chair for many hours on end without sweating. Like the backrest, the seat's base is also equipped with a steel frame, but bears an elastic band under it for extra support. Since we have been using noblechairs chairs in our office and lab for quite some time now, we have come to the conclusion that the diamond stitching, dimensionally stable cold foam, and steel frame all contribute to the chair's ability to keep its shape after even heavy use.
Hydraulics, Five-Star Base and Caster Wheels
Under the seat's base is a knob that can either tighten or loosen up the backrest's tilt. By turning it clockwise, one can optimize the rocking function. The gas class 4 lift can actually keep someone with a weight of up to 180 kg (396.83 lb) in position. However, for reasons of safety, noblechairs only clears its ICON chairs for up to 150 kg (330.69 lb) officially. The dust-cover shroud that covers the gas lift seems to be of high-quality plastic, and as with previous noblechairs models, it won't deteriorate significantly as the years go by.
The five-star base is powder-coated and made out of aluminum, which means it is light enough and resistant to corrosion and, thus, vastly used in industrial constructions and the aerospace sector as well.
The caster wheels measure 60 mm across and are made out of nylon/polyurethane. They are steady and roll on demand.
We used this chair on a floor mat and a wooden floor, and never ran into any problems.
