Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock Unboxing

The Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock is the company's flagship air-cooled RTX 4090 offering, featuring the company's highest state of tuning, and its best air cooling solution. Palit also tried to give this card the most striking appearance, with its crystal-like appearance on the front face of the cooler shroud, which is illuminated by LEDs. On RTX 30-series GameRock cards, this is made to appear like crushed ice floating on water, but here it presents similarly to ornaments in a kaleidoscope.

As with most other RTX 4090 cards we have, the Palit GameRock comes in a 2-layer packaging, the other thin paperboard box has rich color graphics and details key specs and features of this card, and of the RTX 4090 itself.

The inner hard cardboard box opens up to reveal the graphics card nested in foam, surrounded by other inserts that have the accessories.

Besides the card, you get a height-adjustable reinforcement brace that counteracts PCB bending over time; the NVIDIA-designed adapter that converts four 8-pin PCIe power connectors to a 12+4 pin ATX 12VHPWR, and a 3-pin 5 V addressable RGB cable.

The Palit RTX 4090 GameRock has a slick appearance that definitely wins on originality compared to the other cards, we wish we could power it up and show you how mesmerizing the light-show looks like (check back next week for the review).

The card is definitely 4 slots thick. Display outputs include three DisplayPorts and an HDMI. The card draws power from a 12+4 pin 12VHPWR connector. Right next to it is a standard 3-pin ARGB connector, letting you sync your graphics card's lighting with the rest of your system. This is optional, the card can control its own lighting through the Palit Thunder Master app, without needing an external ARGB controller. The PCB is two-thirds the length of the card, so air from the third fan flows through the heatsink and out a vent on the metal backplate.

The card measures 32.5 cm in length, and weighs 1.999 kg.

The card is slightly longer than the NVIDIA Founders Edition, and thicker.
