PCIe Scaling with DLSS 4
One of the core features of the new GeForce 50 Series is support for DLSS 4. This includes upscaling using the new Transformers model. It also features Multi-frame generation (MFG) with factors up to 4x.
On this page we're testing the performance impact of limited PCI-Express bandwidth on the performance of DLSS 4. For this test I selected Cyberpunk 2077. The test scene is not our standard test scene from the reviews, but a slightly different location, which is a bit more practical to test in this scenario, so numbers aren't directly comparable. We're also testing with RT set to max.
As you can see, the scaling is very similar to native—almost no difference at x16 4.0, a few percent at x16 3.0/x8 4.0, only x16 1.1 is seeing a noteworthy impact.
While DLSS Frame Generation experiences only minimal losses in performance, the Transformers model does get hit a little bit harder, especially at x16 1.1.
