F1 2020
Released: 2020 — API: DirectX 12 — Engine: EGO 3.0
F1 2020 is Codemasters' annual entry to the official Formula One video game scene. The game is based around the 2020 Formula One and Formula 2 Championship seeding as originally intended before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the split-screen mode that was removed after F1 2014 makes its comeback. Despite the real-world cancellations of the Dutch and Vietnam races, the Zandvoort and Hanoi Street circuits are introduced this year as well. Several new features, such as My Teams and Driver Ratings, have been added.
Thanks to the racing-optimized EGO engine, graphics look great, and the game runs great on all kinds of hardware. Just like in F1 2019, the game engine uses a physics-based shader model paired with various effects, like volumetric fog and smoke, texture streaming, and screen-space shadows.
