A Closer Look - Outside

We received the black, windowed variant for review, and right out of the box, it becomes apparent that the internals of the Thetis are flipped upside down as the windowed side panel is on the right side of the case instead of the traditional left side. Raijintek has kept all the major design elements of the chassis similar to those found on the Styx. This includes the flat, brushed aluminum front, round power button, and metal mesh top.

Thus, looking at the front, there are not a lot of surprises. The solid panel has diamond-cut edges just like all the other cases in this family of enclosures. Turning the chassis over, you can clearly see the motherboard tray's placement with its expansion slots above the rear I/O.

As this is the windowed version, Raijintek has placed glass panels on both sides of the Thetis, replacing the aluminum ones you will find on the classic variant. They are tinted nicely and come held in place by larger thumbscrews.

Taking a closer look at the front, there is a silk-screened Raijintek logo on the bottom, while the signature round power button can still be found on top, which is on the exact opposite end in terms of design.

The bottom half in the rear is filled with a pre-installed 120 mm exhaust fan and the opening for the motherboard I/O. Above that are the seven expansion slots with their individual, reusable covers. As the screws are on the outside, an additional piece has been placed on them, and given where the PSU goes, Raijintek has routed its plug to the top-right of the rear side panel.

Looking at the top, there are the two USB 3.0 and the usual audio plugs. The Thetis also allows for two 120 mm fans or even a 240 mm radiator in the ceiling. The large opening in the ceiling is covered by a metal mesh cover that comes with a plastic frame. This piece looks and feels a bit cheap as it does not perfectly align with the top panel of the case. Tipping the chassis over reveals another 120 mm fan-mounting possibility. Here, you can also see where the PSU bay is located. There are even several mounting points for a hard drive.
