Razer Orochi and Kabuto Review

Value & Conclusion »

Kabuto

I think the Kabuto mat is a bit of a hit and miss from Razer because it is marketed as a mobile mat. The fact that they have made it so thin and light means that it slides around on normal desks to such an extent that it becomes annoying. Of course the height of the mat is a compromise, but I do not think that Razer has made a wise choice by going with such a low profile. Looking besides the whole movement issue there is the problem of smoothness. The mat is incredible fine grained and the base is really soft this means that you can actually feel small bumps on a desk's surface through the mat, this kind of defeats the purpose of using a mat. Size wise it is right where it needs to be not too small or too big for being practical.
