Disassembly

Disassembly of the Redragon K530 keyboard is on the simpler side of things, with eight countersunk Phillips head screws that need to be removed. Begin by identifying where they are located, which takes the removal of specific keycaps as seen above, and use a precision screw driver to do the job. Once done, the PCB/plate easily lifts off the bottom plastic case, giving you access to an internal cable that needs to be dislodged to fully separate these.

The cable is connected to the battery in the ABS plastic case, and provides power when the keyboard is in wireless mode. The battery is a hefty 3000 mAh lithium ion unit, which is pretty good for a 60% keyboard as long as you don't use the RGB backlighting too much. This case also has cutouts to accommodate the two feet on the other side.

The PCB has the CIY switch socket and LEDs, with the switches themselves easily removable as seen above. There is also a steel plate for structural integrity. The PCB is green, and solder quality is easily on the better side of average considering all that is going on. Powering the keyboard is an EVision VS11K09A ARM Cortex-M0 32-bit USB microcontroller with up to 64 KB of onboard flash memory and 8 KB of SRAM. It also works as an RGB LED hardware driver, as mentioned here, with full 16.8 M RGB colors (256 brightness levels per R/G/B channel) and up to 18 stored lighting effects we will no doubt see on the keyboard. There is also a Pixart PAR2801QN-GHVC Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy controller with another 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 SOC with 16 KB Flash memory and 10 KB SRAM. As is the norm these days, the PCB itself has multiple layers.

Before we move on, be advised that disassembly may void the warranty and that TechPowerUp is not liable for any damages incurred if you decide to go ahead and do so anyway.
