Introduction

Established in 2006, ROCCAT is a peripherals company based in Germany. The Kain 100 AIMO is the budget member of the Kain family, which also includes the Kain 120 (see our review) and the wireless Kain 200, all available in either black or white. "Budget" merely refers to the price, however, as the Kain 100 comes with a very decent selection of features. Compared to the Kain 120, the Kain 100 has a slightly worse sensor (PixArt PMW3331, up to 8500 CPI), rubber cable, and different side grips. The main switches are the same as on the more expensive Kain 120, featuring a specifically engineered click mechanism. In terms of materials and overall build quality, the Kain 100 is just as premium as the Kain 120. Lastly, ROCCAT's very own AIMO lighting system can be found on the Kain 100 too.
