Given the low heat output of the GPU, the cooler can be the most basic thermal solution possible: a small fan encased in a metal heatsink.


Just like all the other ATI low-end cards, this one does not require a 6-pin PCI-Express power connector. All power is supplied via the PCI-Express bus.


The GDDR3 memory chips are made by Samsung, and carry the model number K4W1G1646E-HC11. They are specified to run at 900 MHz (1800 MHz GDDR3 effective). According to AMD, one distinction between HD 5670 and HD 5570 is that HD 5570 designs use only GDDR3 memory.


This is AMD's new Redwood GPU, it comes with 627 million transistors and is produced on a 40 nm process at TSMC Taiwan. The die size is 104 mm².
