Installation

Installing the Scythe Shuriken 2 is a breeze. You start by putting the backplate on the motherboard and then use the plastic spacers to hold it in place. They have a friction fit, so the backplate won't move around or fall off while you attach the mounting brackets on top.

With the mounting hardware ready, apply the thermal paste and secure the cooler to the mounting brackets. There is ample space between the fan blades to slide a screwdriver down inside and thus secure the cooler to the board. This means there is no reason to remove the fan, but if you do, the process will be slightly easier. Regardless, once the cooler is attached to the mounting brackets and fully secured, make sure to attach the fan plug to the motherboard's CPU fan header. With that complete, your Scythe Shuriken 2 is ready to go.

Overall, the installation was exceptionally easy, and I would rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). The small size and well-designed mounting hardware makes for a quick and painless process.
