Packaging

The packaging is just small as the PSU it protects. On the front of the box there isn't much info besides the word "Fanless" and the Gold efficiency badge. As usual the most interesting stuff can be found on the rear side where, besides a short reference to various features, there is a photo of the PSU's internals.

Once we opened the box we found a notice saying that Seasonic fanless PSUs are responsible for their own cooling only and they should be used in cases with good air ventilation. The PSU comes in a luxury cloth bag and is further protected by two thick layers of packing foam. A nylon pouch holds all modular cables and the AC power cord. The rest of the bundle includes a user's manual, some Velcro cable ties, a few zip ties, a set of bolting screws and finally a Gold X-Series card.

Exterior

Since there is no fan the PSU is full of ventilation holes. There are so many that you can actually see through the PSU! That's right, besides see through clothes now we meet see through PSUs! Around the PSU Seasonic has put a label to inform the user that the ventilation cover must face up. Pay attention to this because hot air goes up and not down and if you put the ventilation cover facing downwards, then heat will be trapped inside the PSU and this will affect its proper operation.
