Packaging & Contents

Measuring in at 15.55 cm in length, 22.8 cm in height including the lip, and 8.57 cm in width, the box the Fera 2 HE1224 comes in is small. The front of the box shows off the CPU cooler and proudly displays the SilentiumPC logo. The left side details the cooler's specifications, along with CPU and socket support. On the back of the box are a list of the Fera 2 HE1224's features and an image of its mounting hardware.

On the right side of the box is another image of the Fera 2 HE1224, along with an inset image of the base and heatpipes. The top of the box simply displays the cooler's name in easy-to-read font.

The packaging could be better, but the plastic tray is adequate. It is, in fact, a step up compared to the packaging used by some competing products.

The Fera 2 HE1224 from SilentiumPC supports all modern sockets, and its universal mounting system should make it fairly easy to install. Best yet, SilentiumPC included another set of fan clips for a dual-fan configuration should users want some extra cooling performance. While all the hardware is here, my sample did not come with an installation manual; however, I have been told that it will be included in the future. Regardless, its product page tells you how to install the cooler properly and even includes a step-by-step guide. Common parts supplied for mounting the Fera 2 HE1224 include:
  • 4x LGA 2011 screws
  • 4x Backplate screws
  • 4x Rubber O-rings
  • 4x Fan clips
  • 4x Black plastic spacers
  • 4x Nuts
  • 3x Thumb screws
  • 2x AMD mounting arms
  • 1x Crossbar
  • 1x Backplate
  • 1x 120 mm x 120 mm x 25 mm PWM fan
  • 1x Heatsink
  • 1x Packet of thermal compound
