Packaging

The SilverStone RM42-502 ships in a plain brown cardboard box with generic branding. Only a separate sticker on one of the sides will let you know what server chassis is actually inside. Once opened, you are greeted by an additional inner box and foam-based inserts, which also hold the box of accessories.

Contents

You will receive a sorted set of silver screws, a mere two zip ties, and a single mounting clip for cable management along with two keys for the front panel lock and a PWM extension cable for the rear fan. As the chassis can be modified to stand upright, SilverStone also included the metal parts and some plastic feet for such a scenario. Lastly, a simple assembly guide is present as well. Fun fact: The tiny bag for the optical drive screws is labeled "For CD-ROM," for those who remember what that is.
