A Closer Look - Outside

Taking a first look at the case, it can simply be described as "wow". The case has been on the market for quite some time, but there is simply no other case out there that manages to look so sturdy and menacing. Knocking on the single bent metal front adds to the sturdy impression with a very solid ring to it.

You will not find any doors in front of the case. The bottom holds a round power button, two blue LEDs for power and hard drive activity and a tiny hole in which is used for the reset button. This means you better have some thin and pointy object at your disposal. Right above that is a little drop down door, made of the same sturdy material as the rest of the front. It covers the four USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire and the usual audio jacks. The upper part of the front holds the six drive bays. A Silverstone logo on the left lets everyone know who is behind this chassis.

The rear looks quite unique as well. The power supplies can be placed on the bottom of the case and have been rotated by 90 degrees. The removable mainboard tray is upright with two 92 mm fans. On top you will not find anything else besides a small air vent.

Both sides of the case look identical. A long mesh vent on the bottom gives way to fresh air for the hard drives and power supplies. As we will see later, the case has compartments to keep cable clutter and heat built-up to a minimum.

Dropping the case on its side, reveals the very high quality feet used on the TJ07. These are secured by simple case screws. I actually had to tighten them a bit, as the feet were loose out of the box.
