S.M.S.L SH-6 Amp: Packaging and Accessories
The SMSL SH-6 amplifier comes in a very similar box as the SU-6 DAC, except it uses dark blue accents instead of black. Once again we get the respective logos and a render of the product on the front, with contact info for SMSL provided on the front and sides. A sticker here confirms I have the black color version, and the box opens up in the same manner to show another foam sheet over contents that come neatly packaged in foam compartments.
As with the SMSL SU-6, the SH-6 comes with a warranty card and it's own user manual, (
online copy found here). This too comes with support for multiple languages, although the amplifier is inherently simple in function, so you just need to be familiar with the connections on the front and back. We get another AC mains wall power plug, and I have the UK version again with its relatively large plug and housing. Both cables provided are overkill for the actual items given the 240 V/13 A input possible, but more interesting is the dedicated grounding cable here that I have not really seen used on such smaller desktop amps before. It allows for the metal enclosure to be grounded from the cable that otherwise feeds the amp via a 2-prong connector. Interestingly, there is no 3.5 mm to 6.35 mm (1/4") adapter here as I would have expected to see, for use with IEMs and other headphones not going the 6.35 mm route. Both the SU-6 and SH-6 come in branded plastic wraps to keep them clean and dust-free out of the box.
