Value and Conclusion

  • The Tuniq 3 has a price of $69.99 US Dollars.
  • Sleek aluminum front bezel
  • Tool-less drive bays and PCI slots
  • 3D Core Fan
  • Non-restrictive stamped fan grills
  • Blue CCFL base
  • Affordable price
  • 3D Core fan is difficult to remove due to the CCFL base
  • VGA vent on side window is too high
  • Wiring for the front and CCFLs are cluttered
  • Firewire port not included
  • Motherboard tray is not removable
The Tuniq 3 is an excellent case with plenty of features. The aluminum front bezel gives the case a clean look without clutter, and the buttons and LEDs in the top of the door are a nice touch. The tool-less drive bays and PCI slots make installing the components quick and easy, while the blue CCFL base adds quite a bit of flash.

The main problems experienced with the Tuniq 3 were due to the CCFL base. Two of the screws for the 3D Core Fan assembly were blocked by the base, and the CCFLs themselves added more wiring which required some extra installation time to clean up. The smaller issues with the case were others common to the current lineup of Sunbeam cases: the VGA vent on the side was too high, the motherboard tray is not removable and the Firewire port was not included.

Overall the Tuniq 3 is probably the best case I have seen from Sunbeam, and well deserving of the Tuniq name.
