Packaging

Since I got pre-release samples for the review, the packaging isn't fancy. Still, it protects the router adequately.

Contents and Bundle

Synology uses a polyethylene foam wrap in combination with the hard cardboard box for extra protection inside the box, which is more than enough.

The bundle in my sample included the AC power adapter and a LAN cable. Retail products should also have a quick-start guide.

The power adapter is by Channel Well Technology and quite strong since it can deliver up to 42 W of power.

The Router

There are six antennas in total, and the usual ventilation holes along with several LED indicators above the middle; four are for the LAN ports, one for the WAN port, one for the WiFi signal, and one for system status.

The power specifications label also lists the serial number, pin code, and default password. On this side, you will find screw mounts to install the router on a wall.

The USB 3.0 port, LAN/WAN ports, and power socket are at the back.

The power switch, WPS, WiFi, and reset buttons are also at the back.
