Tagan BZ700 Power Supply

Package

Tagan was very generous and supplied us with their Tagan BZ700 power supply. The BZ series comes in 700W, 900W, 1100W and 1300W varieties with good prices, solid performance and outstdanding looks. The unit ships in a rather large glossy full color box, is 80 Plus certified and features four 12V rails. It is a modular power supply with great looking and functioning connections as well as power connection ports that light up when the appropriate cable is used. Quite impressive.

Opening up the box one is impressed even further with its over the top bundle. The PSU itself is protected within a cloth bag and is further protected by two thick pieces of plastic foam for shipping. Also within the box is a large zippered accessory bag and a faux snakeskin manual printed in black and white. The manual is very informative and packed with many pictures and useful information. Opening the accessory bag, it's clear that Tagan went all out and then some with the bundle included. A screwdriver, rubber dampener, a sticker and even a set of black gloves are included as not to put fingerprints on ones hardware. The cables are all color coded and include 6 pin and 6+2 pin PCI-E cables.

Tagan has painted the power supply in a textured black finish which matches many cases on the market. All of the cables leading from the PSU are beautifully sleeved and show good fit and finish. There is a large 13.5 cm blue LED fan that keeps the PSU cool and matches perfectly with the Tagan A+ Diablo Advance. Every side of this PSU looks great, from the metallic logo on one side to the complete list of specifications on the other. A large fan, to the lighted connectors, Tagan thought of everything. Well, the top of the PSU is plain, though Tagan includes a metallic "Certified by ABS Labs" sticker to place there or anywhere of the users choice. The backside of the BZ700 features an on/off switch and a turbo mode switch which, while in turbo mode, allows all four 12V rails to work as one.

Here is a look at the specification sticker attached to the side of the BZ700. The specifications are quite formidable and clearly could power many of today's high powered systems. One can see the quality and detail Tagan put into the cabling for the PSU. The cables are sheathed all the way up to the connectors and the connectors on the power supply side are made of rugged metal that can be screwed in to prevent any cable from becoming disconnected.
