Team Group has a winner product here. The innovative dual profile specified to work on specific motherboards is a boon to those who purchase those motherboards, while also perhaps indicating a decent amount of clocking headroom for those who are into manually adjusting settings. Add in the smallish heatsink and nice gray color that blends in well when paired with RGB goodness and you have a great mix of features and abilities that some other brands just don't have.
I'm sure some are going to think the secondary profile is just a gimmick, and it might be, but the fact is that it works, and works well. Sure, you can manually overclock and get similar results, but when you do manual overclocking like that you need to test for stability and such. You really don't need to with these sticks when running the ROG Certified profile on an ASUS ROG board, and playing in the BIOS isn't exactly everyone's forte. So for those users, this is a nice treat. I'm all for "technologies" that make being an enthusiast that much easier for those just entering into the hobby.
At the end of the day, these are just memory modules, which in an of itself isn't all that exciting. Yet somehow, I feel really excited about these sticks. You get the high-end Samsung ICs under the hood, a decent 8-layer PCB, good automatic profiling, and considerable overhead to overclock, all while looking good without stuffing LEDs into weird places. Team Group has really stepped up their game here; I wonder if any of the other brands will do so as well and offer dual profiling in their sticks? That's something that would immensely please me for sure. Yet if they don't, you can count on the T-Force DARK ROG sticks to give you what you want. Let me know what YOU think in the forums!
